Major EU grant for research into water technology

Professor Kai Bester, Department of Environmental Science, Aarhus University, has received funding for a project on innovative research in water technology to remove micropollutants and microplastics from wastewater.

BONUS CLEANWATER is a new research project that focuses on reducing the discharge of micropollutants and microplastics into the Baltic Sea by investigating, developing and comparing new eco-technological approaches.

The project is financed by the EU via the BONUS programme, Vinnova (Sweden), Innovation Fund Denmark, and the German Ministry for Education and Science. The budget amounts to EUR 3.8 million (approximately DKK 28 million) for the period April 2017–Marts 2020.
