New grant type brings talented researcher to Denmark

The Novo Nordisk Foundation has launched a new grant type – the NNF Young Investigator Award programme – which provides individual grants of DKK 20 million over seven years to attract highly talented younger scientists to Denmark. Esben Lorentzen is the first to receive this award to establish a research group at Aarhus University.

New director with strong university background

Aarhus University’s new director is 48-year-old Arnold Boon. For the last nine years, he has been director of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (SUND), University of Copenhagen. He takes up his new position on 1 January 2016.
